When God wants to drill a man,

And thrill a man,

And skill a man,

To play the noblest part;

When He yearns with all His heart

To create so great and bold a man

That all the world shall be amazed,

Watch His methods, watch His ways!

How He ruthlessly perfects

Whom He royally elects!

How He hammers him and hurts him,

And with mighty blows converts him

Into trial shapes of clay which

Only God understands;

While his tortured heart is crying

And he lifts beseeching hands!

How He bends but never breaks

When his good He undertakes;

How He uses whom He chooses,

And with every purpose fuses him;

By every act induces him

To try His splendor out-

God knows what He's about. - Author unknown

It doesn't seem like He let's us get complacent down here. If we get complacent with where we are down here, and where we came from, then I suppose we would also get complacent about who He is and who we are to Him.

Yes indeed brother. God's Holy Spirit is restlessly jealous in molding us.

Great to see you again, Brian. So glad you are still blogging, and walking with the Lord.

Amen Johanna. Your world can be turned upside down but you always know you are standing right side up because God's kingdom is not of this world and through it all He lets us know is is so very close all the while. God bless.

This particular poem I did not write. I found it in a book I have been reading again and its author is unknown.

I think I may have heard it in some other context. What's the name of the book?

It is in the Red Sea Rules. Short little book, but I have gone back to it often when facing stuff that gets overwhelming and you feel like your caught between that devil and the deep blue sea again.
